STRATEGY CONSULTANT, AECOM San Francisco, CA 05/2022 - Present Project: Digital Twin for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (ongoing) The client sought a Digital Twin for managing and forecasting campus infrastructure needs. • Collaborated with a technical team on developing and documenting software workflow, and applied digital transformation practices toward software user testing sessions Project: Operational Assessment for the County of Santa Clara The client sought an assessment of 16 of its warehouses for process and operational improvement. • Established project approach by identifying 6 strategic focus areas • Identified current state pain points and improvement areas via multiple rounds of interviews and workshops, and analyzed value chain data from 10 county departments • Applied change management strategies to co-design and conduct a workshop for clients to choose from three tiers of upgrade options • Collaborated on forming baseline digital solutions for all departments to increase operational efficiency by at least 1.5 folds, resulting in the client signing a new project contract Project: Strategic Facilities Study for the Kern Community College District The client sought a feasibility study for a future campus. • Investigated industry data and designed stakeholder workshops to discover the potential for over 1,500 future jobs for which a new campus could train a workforce • Synthesized skills demand across local aerospace, space, defense, logistics, and other sectors towards generating 4 college real estate development scenarios • Developed action items for growing academic, workforce, and revenue-generation programs, resulting in the client signing a new project contract
BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST, Volta Homes Ann Arbor, MI 01/2021 – 03/2022 Entrusted with the formation of the business plan as employee no. 2 of this early-stage “green” real estate, design, and offsite construction startup. • Led the creation of a hybrid digital design and construction process for single and low-rise multifamily homes which reduced the pilot project design time by at least 20%, while enabling client-specific design • Conducted a business landscape analysis of over 60 competitors, the regional housing market, government housing policies, and financing to evaluate business model efficiencies, defining evaluation metrics to guide leadership to better understand decision trade-offs • Built relationships with over 35 vendors, municipalities, and competitor leadership to develop action plans and identify growth opportunities • Influenced company leadership to include new value propositions and go-to-market strategies to give Volta Homes an exclusive competitive advantage
LEAD RESEARCH ASSISTANT, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, MI 10/2019 – 01/2021 Successfully co-managed this business development consulting project for Guardian Industries, a major US glass manufacturer, who were seeking new directions for product innovation for the building industry. • Added new research into value chains and real estate drivers to assess the business models of novel architecture and construction firms, and the impacts of digitalization, robotics, energy codes and health standards, providing the client with diagrammatic forecasts of future industry dynamics • Proposed in-depth studies into a few North American cities through researching relevant energy stretch codes, health design standards in homes & workplaces, and broad real estate trends in the housing and office sectors to help advise the client in growing new product lines • Collaborated closely with the research team and client towards developing quantitative and qualitative data requirements, space evaluation metrics to understand design tradeoffs and spatial impact, survey questions for participating firms as well as organizing and maintaining detailed databases from over 200 literature pieces towards co-authoring and co-managing the development of three white papers
REAL ESTATE CONSULTANT, EA2 Land Trust Ann Arbor, MI 08/2019 - 10/2019 Worked as an Architecture and Real Estate Associate in this early-stage non-profit providing pre-development services to real estate developers in the City of Ann Arbor in order to reduce the city’s housing affordability crisis. • Developed architectural concepts, programming, market analysis as well as financial underwriting for two publicly owned sites for a proposed mid-and high-rise housing development which would contribute tens of affordable housing units, alongside market-rate units, totaling up to 40,000 sf of newly built area. • Met with various stakeholders and interest groups across the city along with the founder to help pitch the organization’s plan and vision.
CONSULTANT (internship), Peter Allen & Associates Ann Arbor, MI 07/2018 - 09/2018 Advised the City of Ann Arbor on human-centered downtown design strategies and housing affordability. • Proposed multiple city center development scenarios after speaking to many stakeholders, which created an indirect dialog between opposing city councilors who were otherwise trying to realize their respective development visions through lawsuits. • Authored the city center development chapter of a wider urban development action plan as an act of design diplomacy, which helped sway citizen opinion during a city-wide referendum on downtown development. • Proposed engaging children and University of Michigan students when considering city center development.
